A few months ago, foremost Nigerian songwriter and dancehall artist who was popularly known as Cynthia Morgan, formally re-introduced her self as Madrina when she came back to the limelight with a banging new hit titled “Billion Dollar Woman”.
Since her rise to fame and success when she got nominated for ”Best Reggae/Dancehall single” at The Headies 2014. Madrina has continued to move up the ladder with banging songs like ‘I’m taken’, ‘Simati Niya’ and ‘German Juice’ which won her Best Reggae/Dancehall single at The Headies 2015 ahead of acts like Patoranking and Timaya.
Madrina went on a long hiatus which kept people wondering where she was. She’s now back and with a whole new self!
As part of her re-branding process Madrina announced the start of her own label, The Cynthia Morgan Company (TCMC) and created a new Instagram account with the name ‘officialmadrina’.
In this interview with flytime TV’s Oluchi and Laura, Madrina tells us all about her new label, reveals the reason behind changing her name, what she was up to during the time of her hiatus, her split with Psquare and lots of other interesting news.
