Women might swear undying love and fidelity to their spouses but when it comes to the strongest relationship in their life, it looks like the ‘ride-or-die’ bestie wins out!
Surprising, given that most of the speeches we’ve heard at weddings involves the bride gushing about how she married her ‘best friend’.
A survey undertaken by Champneys health spa suggests otherwise with the results showing that just over 50% of women prefer their best friends to their husbands.
The study asked 1,517 women in the UK whether they were closer to their BFF’s or their husbands and the results were quite illuminating.
57% said they could talk about anything and everything with their best pal while 44% admitted they could say things to her that they couldn’t tell their partner.
The preference even stretches to socialising with 30% of women saying they would rather have a boozy brunch with the gals than their other half.
The same applied to spa days, with 54% of those polled confessing to preferring to have their friends close by for a pamper session than the man in their lives.
The worst news for guys? 60% of women surveyed claimed they have a better time at social gatherings when there are no men present.
